Lena Headey and Peter Loughran in child custody dispute

Actress Lena Headey may have to bring her 6-year-old son back to California after enrolling him in a school in England. According to reports, the ‘Game of Thrones” star is involved in a dispute over the child custody agreement that she reached with her ex-husband, Peter Loughran. A Los Angeles county court judge has ordered her to do so after finding that she violated her child custody agreement.

Although the deadline had originally been Sept. 5, it was reportedly extended so that Headey could finish filming ‘Game of Thrones” in England. The child custody agreement allows Loughran to have 10 days of visitation each month, and Headey must cover Loughran’s travel expenses when he visits his son in England. It is unclear whether Heady’s move has had any affect on child support.

Headey and Loughran’s marriage began in 2007 and lasted until 2011. Earlier this year, TMZ reported that Loughran was upset about Headey’s decision to move to England with their son. Headey reportedly moved across the pond so that her son could go to what she believes are better schools. Headey also has a younger daughter from another relationship.

Child custody issues can become much more complicated when the custodial parent decides to move far away from the noncustodial parent. Parents who are worried that they will have fewer visitation days because of a move may want to talk to an Oceanside divorce lawyer about their case and seek legal support in opposing the move.
